Junior University Shortlisted for Aoc Award

Maths Level 3 Extension

Due to the excellent work of the project in Oldham, the Junior University has been shortlisted for a prestigious AoC Beacon Award, for the academic year 2010/11, in the College/School Partnerships category.

To help with their decision, two assessors visited the College between on the morning of Wednesday 22nd September to talk to staff involved with the JU, students who have benefitted from JU support and staff from external partners who work with the JU.

The aim of the AoC Beacon Awards, launched in 1994, is to highlight the breadth and quality of education in colleges throughout the UK. It also aims to promote how their good work has both educational and social benefits to local areas.

During the morning the JU team presented a number of examples of their good practise. Students were also invited to talk about how the support they received has helped them reach their potential.

Winners will be announced in November.
