Context:

UNIT 1 : Families and Households. Social construction of childhood.

Aims:

  • To examine the idea of historical differences in childhood
  • To examine reasons for the development of modern childhood
  • Evaluate the future of childhood

Learning outcomes (objectives of session) :

  • Look at what childhood was like in the past.
  • List ways modern childhood came about.
  • Compare and contrast the idea that childhood is now disappearing.

Differentiation and learning styles (please refer to how the more able will be stretched) :

  • Visual, auditory, kinaesthetic
  • Mastery and developmental task
  • Extended assertive questioning

How ILT will be used during the session to enhance learning :

  • ILT will be used in this session in the form of PowerPoint and interactive activities. This will enable students to develop their ILT skills.
