Mission Impossible
The idea behind this project is to encourage students to try out media that is perhaps different to what they have become accustomed to in Art and Design. It is also asking them to think creatively about the challenge that has been set and respond in a unique and quirky way.

The initial “Mission Impossible” video outlines the mission/task and it is accompanied by a number of video examples produced by students from OSFC on the Art and Design Aim Higher Course on windows movie maker.

Why not watch the videos and have a go yourself?

The Mission Impossible

Your mission is to present a quirky response to Malcolm's mission. Your response should reflect your personality in some way telling us about your life and interests. Your final piece should be in video format, good luck.

Simon Austerberry Dr. Sim (the Love Doctor)

My aim was to create a humorous video that demonstrates my creative ability for the Art Aim Higher group. The video was a parody of old school rave dance moves, which were a combination of existing and invented moves.  I created individual clips of each dance move, then combined them together, using iMovie on an Apple Mac, and added a slow motion effect so the dance move can be seen slowly. I felt the music chosen helped to create the humorous effect.

Elliot Hutchinson - Animation Clips

This is a mixture of short animations using unbaked Super Sculpy (as a replacement for modelling clay). The reason for doing this was to add something to my portfolio for a future animation course. This video features over 3000 still photographs and was painfully edited on Windows Movie Maker. I did it in two evening sessions and I was tired on the second night even with Nescafe. My favourite part is the very end with the light behind to create a silhouette effect. Enjoy!

Emma Pickering

As soon as I was given this task, I knew what it would involve straight away. Whenever I make films in the past they are always silly, funny moments so I wanted to capture this by putting past and present videos together. I wanted to give a film that would make people laugh and I think I succeeded.

Laura Bennett

I was influenced by animators such as the creators of "Wallace and Gromit" and many videos seen on YouTube. I wanted to create a video that was artistic yet funny. The video consists of little sketches that I produced and though the sections took a while to complete the actuall production of this film was very fun and for a first attempt at this style of filming I thought it worked well.

Rachel Buckley

One rainy day, me and my friend emma where bored so we decided to film us having a BURPING competition. I think it shocked people to see us acting in such an unfeminine way but its just the way I am really, i cant help it. I just wanted to film a typical day and the reactions people have to it.
